Nike Kyrie 4 “BHM” Stands for Equality

Expression remains at the forefront of Nike’s Black History Month collection. Driven by African-American history, achievement and progressivism, those truths and notions are spoken through models like the newly released Nike Kyrie 4 which, in this particular case, takes a direct stance in favor of equality.

Emboldened by repetition – which is often the only measure of practice when things don’t or haven’t changed – subtle odes to blackness are seen not only in the “Equality” script that also in the fact that it’s colored in noir. Still, a larger play on the Pan-African flag represents the shoe’s greater scheme alongside Metallic Gold accents at Kyrie’s tongue logo.

The Nike Kyrie 4 “BHM” is set to release alongside the entire Nike Basketball collection on January 15, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
