Before The Championship Tour makes its first stop in Vancouver, British Columbia this Friday, TDE President Dave Free teases what could be an upcoming Kendrick Lamar x Nike Cortez.
Lamar, the tour’s resounding headliner, already has two pairs of the Cortez released under his name. Both the “DAMN” Cortez and “Cortez Kenny 1” were among the most sought-after Nike releases of the year. The latter strikes commonality with the unidentified pair Free vindicated on Instagram yesterday.
Whereas the debut Cortez Kenny was predominately red, the TDE president offers a look at a black pair with a red tongue ribbon snaking up the shoe’s centermost point. White Swoosh branding works in conjunction with a matching heel counter and midsole.
The Championship Tour will highlight 16 different pop-up shops across the country. Six of those pop-ups will work in partnership with Nike, which means we’re likely to see new apparel and hopefully new footwear releases. Those six locations include NYC (Concepts), LA (Blends), Boston (Bodega), Toronto (Livestock), Chicago (Notre), and Houston (location to be determined).
Stay tuned to Nice Kicks for more on the potential release of a third Kendrick Lamar x Nike Cortez.
