To celebrate the 22nd anniversary of the adidas Predator, the Three Stripes recently relaunched the iconic soccer boot and also created an off the pitch iteration of the cleat as well. In conjunction with the relaunch of the Predator, adidas caught up with designer Wolfgang Scholz and soccer legend David Beckham to provide insight on the evolution of the soccer boot.
With Scholz being the original designer of the Predator and since Beckham played in the boots, the two provide excellent analysis on how the cleat has transformed over time.
“Our goal was to make the best soccer shoe ever created,” said Scholz. “It looked so different, but it also had function.”
