Nike Training

HISTORY

According to fable, Nike wunderkind, Tinker Hatfield originally proposed a Nike Training line after having an epiphany during a trip to the gym.? Carrying around a different shoe for basketball, running, and tennis, Tinker recognized the necessity for an all-in-one shoe.? Nike Training was started in 1987 to fill the void between basketball and running with all-purpose footwear that performed indoors and out.? As health and fitness became increasingly popular in the mainstream, Nike Trainers catered to professional sports like football, tennis, and baseball, as well as daily activities like weight lifting, aerobics, racquetball, and jogging.? It eventually became an apparent success with spokesathletes like Bo Jackson, Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, and Deion Sanders.? Since the re-issues in 2003 and expansion into the Nike SB line, Nike Training has remained a staple in sneaker culture and everyday footwear.
