 If Nigo’s $110 Bape Sta Sandals were too rich for your blood, these might be the solution. For $70 one can have the most ridiculous item to ever feature a Bape Sta logo - aqua socks.

BAPE LA Grand Opening
 Just as BAPE is beginning to lose the momentum it built from opening a store in SoHo, the company is about to open a second door across the nation in Los Angeles. In two weeks Bape LA will open its doors at 8001 Melrose. Don’t be surprised if this shop has the regular entertainment dudes who frequent UNDFTD but at least this shop will be an alternative for Bape heads who have been buying from resellers and Flight Club LA.

World Wide Bape Heads Show Hong Kong
| The next Bape Heads show will be taking place at the Hitec Star Hall in Hong Kong April 10th. Live in person will be Nigo, the Teriyaki Boyz, N.E.R.D., and Grammy sweeping artist Kanye West.
Tickets range in price from $580-$1180HKD ($75-$151US), however tickets are getting pretty hard to come by. Time to cash in those frequent flier miles… Info thanks to HypeBeast. |

Bape Sta “Dots & Stripes”
It seemed like for a minute that Bape was heading a different direction with toned down Bape Stas. Apparently that’s all out the window and they are back to their usual tricks of repeating patterns and all over prints. Nothing exciting, just overdone. | When we think of Nigo and Bathing Ape pumping out shoes “appropriate for the season” this generally includes patent Halloween joints or Bape Stas covered in an all over Hawaiian print for summer break. Bape continues to tone down the colors and prints for something simple.

New Leather Tri-tone Bape Stas
Keeping with Nigo’s new theme of staying low key, a new set of Bape Stas have released overseas and Stateside using leather and a tri-tone palette. While Bape had a good run of obnoxiously colored kicks, it looks like they are wanting to cater to the more of the trend-setting customer than to those who want to match their favorite celeb on Myspace. All four colors in-store now for $190.

Sponge Bob Bape Stas
| For years, Sponge Bob has made his way onto sneakers, but never authentic ones until now. In a some what puzzling move, Bathing Ape has done an official collaboration with Nickelodeon to make Sponge Bob edition Bape Stas.
It looked like Bathing Ape was heading down a new path with the line of Premium Leather Bapes, but these are a step back to what they are more well known for. Sponge Bob crossed with Bathing Apes could only remind us of this YouTube classic. Pics thanks to High Snobiety / Conope. |
