SolesBySir Custom adidas Cleats for Arizona State

With Nike cracking down on the usage of third-party customization of their football cleats, it seems as though adidas is looking to embrace the artistic presence taking over the footwear culture. With Arizona State University recently becoming an adidas sponsored program, the Three Stripes brand reached out to Miami-based artist SolesBySir to help create a special one-of-a-kind custom cleat for former ASU player Derek Hagan. This custom model utilizes the adidas Adizero 5-Star 3.0 cleat as a muse, in which SolesBySir canvased the entire upper of the model in ASU-inspired hues of maroon and gold. In addition, various ASU logos can be seen throughout the model. It’ll be interesting to see how adidas continues to utilize custom artists within the design process of their cleats. Nonetheless, props to adidas and SolesBySir for this stellar collaboration.
