Nike LeBron 16 “I Promise” Gives Back to James’ Akron Charter School

Before LeBron James left Cleveland this past summer for greener pastures in Los Angeles, he gave the people of Akron, Ohio, one last gift: a school.

James’ I Promise charter school is his lasting legacy off the court, helping underprivileged youth in the Akron area realize their goals of a better education.

In honor of his institution of education, an “I Promise” iteration of the LeBron 16 is set to release soon. Colored largely in black Battleknit 2.0, a multicolored outsole brightens the look alongside a jeweled Swoosh at the heel. “We Are Family” and the LeBron James Foundation marks the rear of each shoe as a representation of his love for community and the youth.

Today, we learn that LeBron, Nike Basketball and House of Hoops have teamed up for a fundraising release for the “I Promise” LeBron 16s.

Starting today, The “We Are Family” Draw will allow fans a chance at the “I Promise” LeBron 16s and a signed surfboard for a donation of only $10.

Fans can enter The Draw by donating at wearefamily.rallyup.com with all proceeds going towards the LeBron James Family Foundation to help fund his I Promise School in Akron.

The Draw runs until November 23rd at midnight with winners to be announced on November 24th. Fans are allowed to enter as many times as they wish.

The Nike LeBron 16 “I Promise” will drop for retail after The Draw at nike.com and at select retailers on November 20th.
