One of the select few on the Nike Basketball roster to get their own signature sneaker, we get a first look at Kyrie Irving’s ninth signature sneaker, the Nike Kyrie 8, that’s dropping later this year.
Formerly thought to be the Kyrie 9, last year’s model was renamed the Nike Kyrie Infinity after Kyrie disapproved and denounced his involvement on the sneaker.
The sneaker uses a multilayered mesh upper with a marbled pattern and a translucent overlay with cream, black, and red accents seen throughout the sneaker. The exaggerated Swoosh on the lateral side is seen in red with a black border and red is seen on the medial Swoosh as well as on the design element across the midfoot.
Kyrie’s logo is seen on the tongue with the roman numerals 8, 13, 11, and 23 seen stitched on the medial side of the sneaker. Going down into the midsole, React foam is utilized that features Ky’s signature on the lateral side with a Zoom strobel setup, whether it’s full-length or just the forefoot is still unknown.
The forefoot midsole is seen in black with Zoom branding and details such as Kyrie’s mother’s name, Elizabeth Ann Irving, is debossed on the midsole. Lastly, a multi-patterned outsole with the Swoosh and Kyrie’s logo finishes off the sneaker.
