Quickness and forefoot flexibility were key for Leo Chang when designing the Nike KD VII, and lightning strikes serve as the perfect metaphor for Kevin Durant’s powerful play. The average temperature of a lightning strike, 35,000 degrees, acts as inspiration for one of the first colorways of KD’s latest signature, which boasts a bright mango upper, volt outsole and hits of deep grey. In terms of technical elements, the KD 7 sports a Hyperposite heel for support along with Dynamic Flywire for lockdown and fit. The Nike KD VII “35,000 Degrees” is set to release via Nike Basketball retailers on July 12.
