The ever-important first “C” in “CSS” stands for “Celebrity,” and when speaking of that word in 2015 it doesn’t get any bigger than Kylie Jenner. Think back to a few years ago when reports came out regarding how much more popular Drake was on social media than Kanye and Jay Z combined and imagine how that equates to the run Kylie is just starting. If you’re closer to 30 than 20 and metrics don’t impress you, just remember how cool Kobe seemed in ’97 or how hot Britney was circa the “Sometimes” video. That’s Kylie Jenner in 2015 times about a million.
For Kylie in the CSS sense though, it’s not all about follows or sell-out products. Aside from moving units and doing good on her social channels, she’s also showcasing an evolving style that’s right on trend with the athleisure movement of today’s youth. Sprinkling in grail-worthy kicks with modern streetwear and perhaps a little styling from Ian Connor, the end result is a modern superstar appealing to more than just the mainstream. Hate if you want, but you’ll be seeing much more heat and headlines from Kylie Jenner in 2016.
