Big Sean is playing no games in 2017. Coming off a 2016 that saw him drop the TWENTY88 EP and warning shot singles like “No More Interviews” and “Bounce Back,” the Detroit native and GOOD Music MC is officially on PUMA.
Confirmed today by TSG, fans of Celebrity Sneaker Stalker have likely been hip to this move for more than a minute now as Sean began rocking models like the PUMA Clyde and A Bathing Ape x PUMA Blaze of Glory around the fall time. From jump, Sean has been one of the more dynamic players in the sneaker partnership space, scoring an early Brandon Jennings Under Armour commercial with his mixtape cut “Desire Want and Need” back in 2009 and signing with adidas all the way back in 2011 — a deal that produced three successful collabs. Joining PUMA breaks up a bit of the GOOD x adidas alliance, but it also makes him yet another RocNation artists to sign with said company.
A major supporter of Nice Kicks over the years, Sean has helped kick off columns like My 5 (he was the original), 5 Good Minutes and our 1 on 1 segment. Sean joins a revamped PUMA roster that just picked up The Weeknd and put on campaigns in 2016 with the likes of Kylie Jenner, Young Thug, Rae Sremmurd and of course the wildly popular Rihanna.
Check out shots of Sean in PUMA in his new Mike Carson directed video “Moves” via NahRight which sees Sean prominently featured in his new sponsor. Let us know your hopes on this new partnership in the comments that will likely see even more noise as his I Decided album release approaches on February 3rd along with his tour of the same name joined by 2016 All-CSS Rookie Team member Madeintyo.
