adidas and Extra Butter have revealed their collaboration for the 25th anniversary of the cult classic comedy Happy Gilmore and in the collection is the adidas ZG21, colorway inspired by Happy’s mentor Chubbs, played by Carl Weathers.
The ZG21 comes in an eggshell white, with brogue detailing on the toecap and the fringe kiltie over the laces. Alligator print is utilized in the quarter panels, a nod to Chubbs’ arch-nemesis, a one-eyed alligator that took his hand. The 3 stripes are adorned on the medial side and marbled grey ZX-inspired heel counter and BOOST enclosure on the lateral side. Lightstrike and BOOST work in tandem for the cushioning setup, with a Six-cleat Thintech TPU outsole for stability in wet conditions. Extra Butter and adidas branding are seen on the tongue, kiltie, and insoles that also feature the one-eyed alligator.
