Vans Syndicate X Steve Olson V79
|
If you have ever set foot on a skateboard before, you need to know who Steve Olson is. If you have ever heard of Powell Peralta, Bones or Santa Cruz then you might want to keep reading for a little history lesson. Steve Olson was one of the skateboarders that laid the foundation for these companies. He was a sponsored rider for these companies before most of you were born. In fact he was essentially, a sponsored rider for Powell Peralta back before the company was even formed! |
Independent Trucks is probably a company most of you have heard of. Nowadays, even popular hip-hop artists like Pharrell and Lupe Fiasco have been seen sporting Independent shirts. Over 25 years ago they started making their “Built to Grind” Trucks with a little testing help from a hard-core punk rock skater nicknamed “Bulky”. You guessed it “Bulky” was Steve Olson’s nickname back in the day. He admits he thinks it’s the stupidest nickname he has ever heard, but what’s that matter when you are laying the foundation for skateboarding. Now that you’ve had your history lesson for the day, let us know what you think. Do you want us to drop more knowledge on you in the future? |
