Vans combines the iconic checkerboard pattern with a classic gum sole – or at least part of one. This Authentic features the classic black and white checkers up top with a pair of white laces and a black trim around the heel collar. Lastly, where the midsole meets the heel is where the white meets the gum sole, which also edges its way up to the accenting on the quarter-panel as well.
