UNDFTD x Converse Chuck Taylor Product (RED)

UNDFTD x Converse Product (RED) Wear A Sock Kid

Just yesterday we posted Lupe Fiasco’s Converse Chuck Taylor he cooked up for the Product (RED) campaign, but today we have some great info on Converse’s work with UNDFTD. In addition to the sneakers that UNDFTD worked on with Converse, they also worked up a matching limited T-shirt as well as a 100% and 400% Be@rbrick.

While we have loved the work that many of the artists and brands have done with Converse for the Product (RED) Campaign to raise money to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa, none hold a candle to the ones UNDFTD cooked up. While raising money for the cause is honorable, we love the message that UNDFTD casts with this lineup of goods. “Wear a sock kid!” is the theme for the products drawing a parallel between wearing a sock in your shoes and practicing safe sex.

The detail of the sweaty “sockless foot” with warts should teach all of us a lesson. The spread of HIV/AIDS is a major problem in Africa, but as with all problems, the battle begins at home.

This collection will release Saturday, April 5th at all US UNDFTD shops and online at undftd.com.

The message of these shoes make them my favorite (besides Lupe’s) of the Product(RED) lineup. I admire UNDFTD using sneakers to teach us a life lesson.
