The sneaker community was in a frenzy earlier today when Pharrell Williams and adidas Originals released the highly anticipated Hu collection. Comprised of re-imagined NMD styles that celebrate humanism and cultural diversity around the world, the offering hit home with not only what Williams holds most dear, but where our greatest strength as a people lies – within one another.

Williams’ run with adidas has been unlike any other. Thus, his “OTHER” moniker rings true, fortifying a promise of originality and purpose that extends from his music to his designs. Since signing with the three stripes back in March 2014, his unparalleled impact has been instrumental in the brand’s global overtaking.

Given the adoration the Hu collection received today, for the latest edition of Nice Kicks Throwback Thursday we take a look back at Skateboard P’s best adidas Originals releases during his short but fruitful tenure.

Pharrell x Billionaire Boys Club x adidas Originals Stan Smith “Pony Hair”

Release Date: November 2015

Long before Pharrell was designing and wearing products with three stripes, he was anchoring his own brand – Billionaire Boys Club. He merged the two in fall of 2015 when he released these “Pony Hair” iterations of the Stan Smith. Williams smartly tied the shoe back to BBC glory by implementing the outfit’s famous “Diamonds & Dollar Signs” prints, effectively bridging the gaps between street and sportswear.
