Continuing to show why he is the premiere sneaker customizer in the game, The Shoe Surgeon’s latest customization is dubbed the React AJ1 as it’s a combination of the Nike React Element 87 and the iconic Air Jordan 1. Interesting enough, this comes right before Jordan Brand debuts their own React enabled AJ1.
Keeping the classic AJ 1 silhouette, The Shoe Surgeon added clear ripstop materials and premium Italian leathers to the upper. Design elements from the React Element 87 like the distinctive tongue pattern and zig-zag stitching were also added.
“Not many people understand the time it takes to execute something like this,” The Shoe Surgeon wrote on Instagram. ‘There were many patterns, pullovers, adjustments, material testing, trial and error, and even wear-testing to make sure everything was executed to the best of our ability.”
A limited run of The Shoe Surgeon’s React AJ1 will be available for purchase from his website starting on Sept. 29th.
