Reebok Basketball is pushing towards the future with cues from the past. After Nerlens Noel debuted the hybrid Reebok Answer 14 on court in the NBA Summer League, we see a new Kamikaze as well. Drawing from Shawn Kemp's iconic Kamikaze I and II, the Reebok Kamikaze 4 adds a brand new silhouette to the line. Featuring a wavy design just like its predecessors, this updated version uses DMX Foam for cushioning and a lightweight upper for performance capabilities. Rolled out in six different unique style codes, the Kamikaze 4 will look to add a new chapter to the series. Get a first look at the array of colorways below, and tell us your instant reaction in the comment box at the bottom.
Typically more loud than lavish, the Reebok Kamikaze II flips the script on a new Burgundy/Gold-Blue makeup. Burgundy suede styles the upper portion of this pair, accented by shiny, scaly gold trim on the tongue and upper. The laces sport the same metallic hue, while a turquoise tone of blue resides on the lining, toe box branding and lower third of the upper. A size 5 is previewed in the photos below, pointing at possible GS exclusivity. The reign continues. Following last year’s launch of the explosive Reebok Kamikaze II, the Classics collection returns to the original with the retro release of the Reebok Kamikaze I. Worn by Shawn Kemp during his high-flying days with the Seattle Supersonics, this 1994 model makes its way back in the classic Black/Green-White colorway. Look for the Reebok Kamikaze I to drop at select Reebok Classics accounts on January 17th.
As alluded to in our interview with Reebok Global Vice President of Lifestyle and Entertainment Marketing Todd Krinksy, the Reebok Kamikaze I Retro is set to hit shelves later this year. The shoe was former NBA star Shawn Kemp’s first signature sneaker under the Reebok umbrella. Black suede on the upper is infused with either white leather or red suede on the respective colorways seen here. The design on the upper leaks down onto the midsole, and the shoe is offset with white Reebok vector logos on the rear outer panel. This Reebok Kamikaze I Retro preview shows black/white (sans the forest green panel on the rear) and black/red colorways. The original Kamikaze I dropped in 1994. After almost two decades, does this shoe make your must have list?
