Rick Ross took to Instagram just a little while back to give us a preview of what appears to be an upcoming project between Reebok and his label, Maybach Music Group, better known as MMG. Reebok’s retro résumé is a stellar one, with a stable of silhouettes that are deserving of regular homage. Doing it up in a major way, Reebok revives the Classic Leather, Workout Mid and NPC for their Retro “Elements” Collection. Packaging the trio in four different schemes, the set is seen in a vintage look, while also pushing the boundaries with more contemporary color swatches. While it might not get as much playing time on court as back in its heyday, the Reebok Kamikaze I continues to ramp up its street cred with a new Black/Red colorway. Lending to its status as an off-court option, smooth nubuck drapes the upper, as red and black work to tame the kick’s brash design. Following similar color blocking as the Black/Blue release to come before it, this Reebok Kamikaze I will land at Reebok retailers, in addition to Shop Nice Kicks, on Friday, March 14 for $115.
Back at it again in Las Vegas, Reebok turned up at the Agenda Trade Show, bringing their roster of music celebrities for the occasion. Turning the trade show floor into an old school barbershop, Rick Ross, Swizz Beatz, Cam’ron and French Montana were in attendance to not only kick a few freestyles, but also sit in the leather swivel chair for a fresh cut. The first collaborative sneaker revealed from a four-shoe set, the Distinct Life x Reebok GL6000 celebrates the official launch of the Distinct Life Dry Goods (DLDG). Creative Director Rick Williams designed this premium sneaker in partnership with Reebok, which features embossed leather, Distinct Life camouflage, ballistic nylon and nappy suede pops. This collab will be available via Burn Rubber on February 14th, with other top tier retailers receiving the shoe on the 28th.
