Reebok Kamikaze II
The Reebok Kamikaze II is the second signature for Shawn Kemp from Reebok. The Kamikaze II was originally released in the mid 1990's, and had it's first retro release in 2012. You can expect more Kamikaze IIs to go on sale in 2013 in an assortment of decorative color schemes.
Shawn Kemp’s stay in Portland is profiled on the Reebok Kamikaze II “Trail Blazers”. Team colors tag the upper in smooth and patent leather fashion, with speckled styling and icy outsoles also adding appeal. After offering a nod to nostalgia with the splashy, city-centric styling on the Reebok Kamikaze II “Remember the Alamo” and unearthing two Reebok Question PEs the world never thought would release, it appears Packer Shoes has another Reebok Classics collaboration on the way. Going back to Shawn Kemp’s Kamikaze II silo, a teaser image from Packer’s IG account sees the Jersey crew placing tones of red and green on the electric silo. While Christmas connotations are a safe assumption based on the shoe’s holiday hues and the assumed season of release, a closer look reveals pepper placement on the tongue tagging, likely a play off the “Remember the Alamo” release. If that wasn’t enough, the IG post sports the hashtags #RememberTheRemix and #thesetheRedDecembers. Keep it locked to Nice Kicks for more details on this Packer Shoes x Reebok Kamikaze II release.
Is it safe to say that every season is camo season? Unsurprisingly, the ubiquitous print shows up on the Reebok Kamikaze II “Camo.” Striking a nice balance, the major panels on this release are draped in black nubuck, with the fatigue print guest starring throughout in appropriate locations. Reebok branding chimes in throughout in red, with green accents keeping things flowing in the right direction. Given the extended run of the Kamikaze, where does this “Camo” colorway stand among its contemporaries? Drop your thoughts in the comments and stay tuned for stateside release info.
