Kobe Bryant’s new Nike Kobe 9 is slated for a “design meets art” reveal next week, but the Nike Kobe 8 isn’t going anywhere. The newest style code of the low-top hoop shoe comes in the form of the Nike Kobe 8 “Mine Grey”, a subtle model with a quiet bite. A mine grey base is dressed in Pit Viper print with dark grey scales mixed in, flowing into an outsole of the same hue. Court purple provides the featured contrasting color, making up the Swoosh, tongue, laces and speckled midsole. University red pops on the speckles and glossy heel clip, as well as on the tongue’s KB24 symbol to give this new colorway a little bit of flare. Tell us your thoughts on the “Mine Grey” Nike Kobe 8 in the comment box at the bottom of the page, and strike a pair on November 30th at select Nike Basketball retail outlets.
New colorways of the Nike Kobe 8 have been rolling off the line lately, especially from across the water. The newest member of the trend comes in a royal and yellow makeup. These Mambas feature a deep royal blue base, accented by a tour yellow swoosh and sticky outsole. A midnight navy inner collar and heel add a hint of contrast, and a graphic midsole and three-tone laces give this KB24 model a little extra flare.
Shortly after a teaser of the Nike Kobe 9 hit the airwaves, a new iD option for the Nike Kobe 8 is now available. Thanks to NIKEiD, you can now customize a pair of the Mamba 8s with a graffiti design on the upper. This new iD option still offers the same colors for the Swoosh, midsole and heel clip as before, simply laid out on a new background. Six different graffiti colorways are offered on the upper, ranging from a graphic black/white to a purple/yellow combination.
Team exclusives have always been comparative to gold for sneaker lovers, but they are rarely available for public purchase. The newest Kobe exclusives are a general release, you just have to buy at least six pairs. Team store 1United, which is located in the Philippines, will be the only spot to carry these. After seeing a black and a red Kobe 8 Team Exclusive, this Nike Kobe 8 PP “Gorge Green” is a bit more outgoing. Gorge green and volt coincide with a grey swoosh on top of a black upper to make these rarities a good blend of simple yet flashy.
We’ve seen lifestyle renditions of the LeBron X, and now the Kobe 8 will receive the same treatment this weekend. Releasing at select Nike Sportswear accounts is the Nike Kobe 8 Lifestyle Bright Citrus/Track Brown. Also known as the “Mexican Blanket” Kobe 8, this sneaker features a plethora of colors on the upper that shares a likeness with a serape. The Bright Citrus/Track Brown Kobe 8 will release on June 1, 2013 with a $110 price tag. Will you cop or drop?
