adidas EQT Elevation

adidas Crazy 97 White/Black

Another original colorway of Kobe Bryant's EQT Elevation returns in the form of the adidas Crazy 97 White/Black. Still containing the same DNA of the Elevations that the Black Mamba donned in his early days with the Lakers, this adidas Crazy 97 is slightly modified to meet modern standards. Most notably, the yellow holographic circles on the tongue and lateral side switch between "adidas Equipment" and "8", the number KB wore when he was hooping in the silhouette. The same series of leather and mesh panels compose the upper rides on top of a EVA heartbeat midsole and bulging rubber outsole. Is this the best rendition of the classic model? adidas Crazy 97 Black/White-Gold

Recently spotted in College Kicks On Court, one of Kobe Bryant's original adidas has made a retro return in an OG colorway. Previously known as the adidas EQT Elevation, the adidas Crazy 97 Black/White-Gold revives the classic with modern materials. One of the original style codes that KB laced for the 1997 season, where he won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, the wavy design is set in a mix of black and white. Lakers gold is the featured color from the black and white canvas, popping on the lateral quarter panel and tongue's adidas/8 tags and eyelets.

adidas EQT Elevation “1997 Dunk Contest”

Before he was an All-Star, before he was an MVP, before he had any rings, Kobe Bryant was a rookie looking to prove himself like every other hopeful. Using the same platform Michael Jordan, Dr. J and countless others leaped off before him, KB8 became a household name in the 1997 Dunk Contest. Rocking his shooting shirt for the majority of the showing but leaving the Oakleys at home, an 18-year old kid Kobe windmilled and reversed in his purple PEs. He’d take home the trophy with a between the legs dunk, throwing out a flex in front of the NBA’s elite and high school hunnie Brandy Norwood. Back for the first time, this once exclusive is now available all. Visit Packer Shoes to pick up a pair of the adidas EQT Elevation "1997 Dunk Contest" for $110.
