Story behind Lucha Libre Air Force Ones

Many of you have seen these Lucha Libre Air Force Ones before, but there is alot of interesting background on the sneakers. The Lucha Libre Air Force Ones were designed by Xghetto666 from the group of artists known as team the Da-Flow, a great young talent from Mexico City. Here the story behind the sneaker.

Nike x Da-Flow Air Force Ones Low ¨Royal Aguila¨: This shoe is inspired by one of the greatest Luchadores of all times….. Dos Caras. The brother of Mil Mascaras and Sicodelico, one of the greatest wrestlers in the world. Dos Caras represents the duality of life, being good and bad (Tecnico or Rudo) life and death, man and woman, day and night, the power of having the possibilty to have 2 personalities at the same time, having the liberty to fly like an eagle controlling the skies and the land. The Nahuatl Symbols used on these kicks mean ¨ Lucha Luchador ¨ (Wrestling, Wrestler) , evoking the power and royalty of the Aztec Eagle Warrior .

As you can see there is much more thought behind the design than it appears at first! It always changes if you know what the meaning behind something is that you wear. They had a nice launch party for this sneaker in Mexico City last Friday at the Guerreria store. Check out all of the pics! Pics and info thanks to HighSnobiety.

  40. Did you pay retail for the lucha shoes or did you all pay 2,000.00 for them? I’m doing a cultural project for my Spanish class, and your comments could help.
