It’s been a lengthy wait for the Nike Air Max Deluxe retro. Originally released just before the turn of the century, in 1999, the shoe has cashed in on cultural currency in recent years given its inspiration for budding Air Max models and collaborations alike. Finally, though, the real is back.
As Nike often does with adoring retros back from hiatus, the Air Max Deluxe will begin its new cycle with an original colorway. Starting with the “Photo Blue” OG, this lush representation of late ’90s design language revives a colorway ideal for the summer months ahead.
Full-length Air cushioning was revolutionary in decades past but certainly customary in modern-day. The Air Max Deluxe delivers in both premium cushioning and retro aesthetics, continuing where anniversary releases of the Air Max 97 and Air Max 98 have in the past two years.
Expect the Nike Air Max Deluxe “Photo Blue” on July 12 in Asia and Europe. Stateside release details have not yet been crystallized but should follow suit later this month.
