Ricky Powell Puma sneakers
 Ricky Powell is a legendary New York street photographer who has had long connections with hip hop. Known around the world as ‘the fourth Beastie Boy’, Ricky Powell has photographed some of the best known rap and hip hop artists of all time. In fact, he was even mentioned in the Beastie Boys track Car Thief.
Puma approached Ricky to make him a special 2 pairs of custom sneakers. Powell chose a high top version of the Puma Clyde and dressed the sneaker in classic suede colors. Gold stitching sets off the shoe and a photo of a dog that he walked from his dog-walking days replaces the traditional Puma cat logo on the tongue. These were special make ups for Ricky himself, not for public consumption. Pics via bkrw. |
