Remembering The King
| Today is one of those days that has an awkward salutation. “Happy MLK Day” may sound odd since Dr. King was assassinated for his cause, but I think it would be a misfortune of misunderstanding to not think of this day as being a good one.
Today is the birthday of one of the greatest men of American history. His words are spoken today and his “dreams” will forever be remembered. While day to day we may not think of what Martin Luther King did for America, please take a few moments to do a quick read around the net and think about what he has done for us all - black, white, Asian, or any race or ethnicity. I know that Dr. King would have loved to see sneaker culture and the community. People of all backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religious beliefs, come together and talk about shoes, go shopping together, and even throw parties over kicks. Looking from the outside, the sneaker community is a very accepting and diverse community - something Dr. King would have loved to see. |
