Puma x Yo! MTV Raps 20th Anniversary

Puma is back to their old tricks again releasing a series of Yo! MTV Raps sneakers that begin to drop April 19th and will continue to release through May. No collabs were done with any “back then” artists, but Puma employed classic colors and materials to the First Round, Suede, Match, and RS-100 for this series. These sneakers are part of MTV’s celebration of the 20th anniversary of Yo! MTV Raps. Later this month MTV will bring the program back with a new series that will take a reflective look at how hip-hop started and will follow its evolution through music history. Yo! Puma and MTV need to stop these.
The first exclusive Clydes were dope, the second round had a few good pieces, but this is officially overkill. You know you have overdone something when even Nike wouldn’t kill it as many times!
Most of the kids buying these weren’t even alive in ‘88 when this show first hit the scene.
Thats’s my 2 cents for what it’s worth to y’all.

I know that kids will be on these, especially those high top joints, but what I am saying is that it feels like Puma is over doing the Yo! MTV Raps bit. This is round 3 you feel me?

^^^ I’m a new yorker for life and I agree with mic check 212…there were only “a few” truly hot joints out of the many which have been released so far…that’s like lettng off 100 shots and only hitting 3 people.
On another note…I will be SOOOO happy if I can get my hands on the hi pair…may kinda/sorta make up for me not getting the alife.

OH i understand. and you being from the 212, you might see more people with these.especially in Harlem where these colors are what it is. i wouldn’t want to ”wear them out” too much

More Yo!MTV Raps is overkill, but at least they’ve consistently been nice. Its not like they’re releasing ugly sneakers with a horrible theme again and again.

I think the MTV rap series is good so far. It should keep going, I wouldn’t stop it, keep them coming. The MTV raps show stopped because of negative vibes.
