Premium Goods x Nike Zoom Kobe 1 Receives Top Honor
| The latest issue of Complex Magazine is the fifth annual Sneaker Special. Complex dedicated a page to the top 9 sneakers of the past 5 years. The list included some of the usual suspects such as the alife x Reebok Court Victory Pumps, Nike Dunk SB “California”, and the Nike DQM Air Max 90. The top honor was awarded to a shoe that many have never seen or even knew existed: Premium Goods x Nike Zoom Kobe 1.
Six legendary sneaker shops collaborated with Nike to produce a special version of the Zoom Kobe 1 during the All Star Week in Houston, TX in 2006. On the Thursday before the game, Kobe was shown all six designs and his pick was the version cooked up by Jennifer and Clarence from PG Houston and Brooklyn respectively. You may be asking why then did the Stash/NORT version get released? There was an online poll and the people decided to go with that version. There are 24 pairs of these floating around the world, but I heard some “chitter chatter” that the Premium Goods version will be launched in a super exclusive release.
