Looking to provide some proper knowledge when it comes to sneakers, OSD is getting ready to bring its SOLEcial Studies Class back next month. Having previously been taught in New York at the Parsons New School of Design, and the University of Oregon as part of the Pensole Footwear Design Academy, the 8 week program is back and ready to find the next generation of footwear industry professionals.
With a curriculum based on a mix of topics along with a lesson plan created from the six decades of sneaker experience the Sole Doctors possess, the 8 week experience is set to begin on Tuesday, July 21st and will end on September 8, 2015. In session once per week, classes will be held on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 pm EST. For the tuition, the cost per student is $200 while a discount can be applied based on referrals.
At the conclusion of the 8 week session, students will receive a certificate of completion, continued access to business resources and mentors along with a letter of recommendation provided to any graduate who applies for a job at a footwear related company.
