Nike x iPod Release
July 13, 2006 marked the day of the public release of the Nike + line of footwear. The Nike + (Nike Plus) shoes were the product of a colaboration between two giants in each other their own industries. Nike revolutionized the shoes we wear and what they do for us since the 1970s. At the start of this century, Apple changed the way we listen to music and media.
There are two things that runners need most for their addictive sport - good running shoes and music to keep the pace. The two Fortune 500 companies came together and developed a technology so that runners could track everything about their run. Runners then could upload this info to their computer and see how much better their times are getting.

I think many overlook the point here. I personally am not a big fan of these shoes for looks either, but the colaboration of technology is legendary.
Looks and performance are two totally different things and when deciding what shoes to wear when you are running should weigh far more on the performance and function rather than outward appearance.

All the stuff I have read about these is fine and good, but when will the sensor make it to Canada?
I just bought a Nano to use with them, but when I checked online to order it (from a variety of sources) I find it is in the US only. It must be annoying for those in other countries to wait for newly annouced Apple products, but it is doubly so up here because half the population could just waltz down to the first Apple reseller across the border and return home with their prize.
Sadly I am in the other half, waiting (im)patiently for an email from Apple saying they are now available in Canada. I expect it will be November before I can enjoy them. I just hope they work in -40c weather.

really it dont matter if the shoe ugly or not. if you a real runner them shoes is off the chain, even though i aint bout to shell out the money to pay for it. but real good idea tho

I agree with that second comment. The shoes are not great looking, but the performance side is what matters, at least when you are looking for a running shoe.
And the significance of this shoe is that they combined the running technology of Nike with the revolutionary technology of Apple’s innovative iPod.
When you experience the rush of this combination, the way they look will not matter at that point.

My favorite are the silver ones. They give a favor of the future shoe style, which makes it all better to advertize technology.
