The Nike Vandal was an extremely popular and fashionable shoe featuring canvas or nylon uppers (instead of leather) and a Velcro ankle strap. The Vandal has been re-issued since it was first discontinued in 1987 with several colorways and material combinations. In 2003, there were several unique collaborations including the “tear-away” collaboration with Geoff McFetridge that featured an extra layer of canvas that wearers could cut, burn, and customize to reveal a patter underneath. The nylon editions were recently released and well-received by fashionistas and skaters worldwide.
