Nike KD 1 - Kevin Durant
After winning the 2007-08 Rookie of the Year Award, Kevin Durant has continued to shine in the league and add more accolades to his young resume. One of these achievements will be his first signature sneaker due in January dubbed the Nike KD 1. We have spotted some exclusive blueprint pictures (shown after the jump) of Durant’s first sneaker over at KenLu.
Obviously, Kevin’s sneaker are heavily inspired by his new team, the Oklahoma City Thunder. The ‘Home’ shoe features a white leather upper with an orange swoosh on the outside of the shoe and a white swoosh on the inside. You can tell, from the picture, that one side of the sneaker seems to be completely covered in Oklahoma City Thunder orange. On the contrary, the ‘Away’ sneaker features a black upper with an orange swoosh on the outside and an aqua blue swoosh on the other side. Both sneakers feature Durant’s initials, in yellow, on the ankle area. Lately, we have spotted Durant in our Kicks On Court Editions hooping in a Nike Air Blue Chip PE. Along with Durant, we also have Lebron James (Nike Zoom Lebron 6), Carmelo (Air Jordan Melo M5) and Chris Paul (Air Jordan CP3) that have or will be releasing signature shoes within the next 3 months. Which young superstar’s latest sneaker interest you the most? |

HMM, shout out to KD.Lebron is my boy and I think he owns the shoe game now, but I lost a lot of respect for what he said about Marbury’s sneaker line.It takes a lot of courage to do something like that. Not everyone has been blessed with wealth. KD has said that he demanded making affordable shoes that cost no more than 69.99. So I’m very curious to see what these drop for, or if they will drop a cheaper version later on. I hope he wasn’t just tryin to get points with the mmedia by saying that. Shout out to Elton Brand, Shaq, Marbury, and anyone tryin to make affordable shoes for those who cant afford Jordans or Lebrons. I myself used to wear the kicks that came on a string. So I know how it feels.

what did lebron say about tha starbury’s?
Comment by oggie doggie — November 12, 2008 @ 2:51 pm
He basically said he cant ever see himself supporting a shoe that goes for 15$ and how he and Nike hold themselves to a higher standard than that. Kinda talking down to the guy as if because of the price that makes you less of a person or something. When in all actuality, they could be made in the same factories for all we know. I will wear my Lebrons, but I cant knock someone for doing this for the community .

hey I’m all for the ‘wear what you want’ rule and the ‘can’t knock somebody for doing what they wanna do’ law but at the end of the day, whether KD’s kicks sell for $69.99 or $169.99, he still signed a $60 million dollar check with Nike and passed up on a $70 million dollar contract with Adidas so you can’t knock him for wearing what he wants lol

I dont know why there isnt more love for this shoe? Them joints are nice … especially for a big man.
Gotta give props to Starbury for the concept of offering cheap sneaks. All these shoes are basically made in the same factories over in Asia, anyway. It’s been covered countless times, but yet ppl still buy overrated, overpriced kicks. With one US sale of a shoe, the ppl that make them could live off that money for weeks but they get paid peanuts for their laboring efforts. So let’s not knock Stephon for trying to help out ppl that cannot afford Js, Lebrons, etc…… Lebron is a b@tch for saying that.
Big up to BK-BIG-JAY-718 for spittin truth.
