Also known as the Air Trainer I and II, a high and low cut shoe respectively, the Air Trainer incorporated a soft leather upper and full-length internal cushioning into a silhouette similar to basketball shoes, but the outsole was flexible like running shoes. The high-cut version included a midfoot strap, the most defining feature of the shoe, that stabilized the wearer’s foot and promoted greater support for lateral movements. The low-cut version did not include the strap.
