Although it’s widely assumed that much of the heat within the densely populated Swoosh vault has already re-released in some form or another, the Beaverton-based brand isn’t nearly done with unearthed retro gems. Much of this, of course, is dependent on the sheer number of sneakers that have released in the years and decades past. In addition, retros are best served when the cultural climate aligns with said shoe.
The current temperature seems ripe for a return of the Nike Air Max2 Light. First released back in 1994 as a successor to the Air Max Light original in 1989, the silhouette was widely adored for its shapely frame and the vibrancy in its colorways. Lightweight materials made the sneaker a runner’s delight while the progressive panel upper set course for its dual-pressure chamber heel and formidable forefoot Air.
Nike’s Air Max2 Light is set to make a timely return sometime in 2019.
