Nike Air Max 90 Infrared Returns
 The coveted Infrared Air Max 90 will return this fall in its original form, but also with premium tweaks. For starters, the leather mudguard has been replaced with a faux ostrich skin, the mesh is replaced with rip-stop nylon, and the soft nubuck upper has been replaced with premium nubuck and leather.

Two tiers Matt, in case you missed that. This is the premium version, but there is also susposed to be an original version for less money. There was a catalog picture of both next to eachother somewhere, wasn’t very detailed, but it should prove that there are two tiers, if I can find the picture.

These are nice, but I’m sorry…cant they just freakin’ release the OG 90 infareds for those who didnt get them the first time?? I was looking forward to seeing that clean black/red Nike Air on the back…instead I get ostrich.
Anybod have a DS or NDS 90 infared retro, size 11-12 they’re willing to part with?

i think this is a brilliant way to retro a shoe. make changes enough to actually make it a different shoe, but still give people an og feel. respect the integrity of og infrared owners. unlike a retro jordan which just looks like a bad imitation of an og…these are smooth

Actually, not a bad idea when you put it that way. I know we’d all love to see retro Jordans with BETTER materials instead of worse lol.
Still though, you can separate retro from OG with smaller things than material changes.

And forgot to say, looking at this shoe on it’s own and not comparing it to the OG infrared 90s, it is a very nice shoe. The only thing I don’t like is that the Nike logo on the heel (not the entire piece) should be infrared.

Overall pretty nice. Not really feeling the ostrich skin mudguard and the soft nubuck upper is much nicer than this premium leather. The ripstop nylon works well though. Wish the NIKE AIR on the heel was infrared, but I’ll probably still get these. Hopefully they will redo the OG again cause mine are beat and too small now.

garbage….. gimme real infareds for HOA prices and i’d stack up on them again, but this “tweeking” of original has to stop….

yeah..thats true. for me if the changes are too subtle, then they start to look like fakes. someone walking by with a bred IV, shoe looks the same, but the mesh is parallel, glued to the side of the shoe, and it has a jumpman,,from a distance, looks legit, but then you walk up on em..and its like..ah those are swapmeet. when i see these, its kinda like, oh those look like the infrareds, but not really. so even a og head with ogs, could still cop these like,,im adding instead of trying to replace. and your right,,premium leathers look good, they stand out, so it will never be the og, but in certain ways, the og wont ever be these, cause quality wise, its more advanced..still the og is the og,,and it is harder..make sense???

people, this isn’t the only one coming out. this is the “premium” version. the regular OG version is also coming out as well as those Free looking ones. so all of you mad that it doesn’t have the OG material and so forth, don’t trip because the OG one is also dropping.

To all the complainers, which will never change, stop whining all the damn time.
If you knew anything, regarding these sneakers, you’d KNOW that these are the Premium versions of the OG infrareds and that the OG infrareds will be released again as well!
