Nike, in the past, has updated many of its foundational Air Max models with velcro patches that ode to vintage style aesthetics and classic flight jackets. That trend continues today with a new “Hot Air” pack featuring the Air Max 90.
Dialing back to the flight jacket reference, the shoe comes in black and olive-green like many of the aforementioned early designs of the top layer in the past. The green mudguard appears in a wool blend that, in these preview images, employs multiple velcro patches above the midsole and near the heel. The pack, which also features the Air Max 95 and Air Max 97 Ultra, is reported to release next month.
