The Air 180 was released in 1991 with a TV ad campaign involving high-profile filmmakers and directors like David Cronenberg (History of Violence, Eastern Promises). At the time, it was a revolutionary shoe because it contained more air than previous models and also expanded the Visible Air Unit to a protective Visible outsole in the heel. Although it was only around for a year, the Air 180 was reissued and since then has carved out its place as a sneakerhead favorite.
