Nice Kicks’ First Annual Day At The Park

| Over the past year, Nice Kicks has received alot of love and support from across the country and even around the globe, but no support is quite as great as what you get from your hometown. Though we are based in Austin, TX, we have received so much support from Houston heads that we refer to H-town as our “hometown we don’t live in.”
My birthday is this week and for me personally, this birthday is a big one. The big 2-3. A number that has meant alot more to me ever since I was a kid than just being a prime number (school’s coming quick kids). The number 23 symbolizes a man who went to work to be the best day in and day out and give it all a man could give. Off the court however, that man was a humble man. A man who cared as much as his roots and his community as his luxuries he could afford from his job. For this day, we wanted to do something we would think that Mike would do for his community that supports him. Today, Nice Kicks will be taking 23 kids from the Houston Boys & Girls Club to see the the Astros play the Cubs. With school on the horizon, and because we love shoes, each child will be receiving a new pair of kicks, bag, baseball cap, and T-shirt. This all would have not been possible of course without the generous help from Kickz Houston, Premium Goods, and Nike. We look forward to having a great time with the kids and to hopefully do more with Boys & Girls Clubs in the future. |
