Nice Kicks Dunk Contest Results
| Thank you to everyone who participated in the first ever Nice Kicks Dunk Contest. Tons of entries were submitted, but unfortunately only one could win the top prize of the $125 Gift Card to Nike to buy their winning design.
Grizz8884 took the title with his “Grass Roots Movement” Dunks. We loved the simplicity of the colors, yet the complexity of textures. All 3 upper materials were used as well as a gum sole utilizing NikeiD for what its made for. Congrats again to Grizz8884, and thank you to all who participated. We have also given honorable mentions after the jump of designs that made it to the top of the list as well. |

Simple color and great use of materials. Throwback to co.jp days.
Purple swoosh really pops on this sneaker. White bottom is a hot contrast as well.
It has been a long time since we have had a good brown toned Dunk…too long!

1st!… im not too impressed really… mike dos are cool… the grass roots movement is an over hype… and this contest was kinda sketchy… first the blog wasnt working.. then the winner wasnt announced on the rite date.. what ever.

I extended the contest since there were server problems and because most people were not posting screen shots but rather links to their creations that expire.
The site was not up from Sunday through Tuesday because of moving servers. I am sorry for this trouble.
I would hope that rather than everyone hating on the winner’s design, they could show good sportsmanship and congratulate him.

I congratulate him on winning, but I don’t have to jump up and down over the design. Does nothing for me and not too much of a “movement” in my opinion. But then again, it’s not my creation. None of them are that impressive anyway. “To each his own” either way.

Congrats to Grizz, those would have been in my own top 5 if id have picked the winner. I dont really agree with the honorable mentions tho.

the GRM is a hot concept, simple but hot. everything aint gotta be overdramatic, and have crazy designs and whatnot. sometimes….A LOT OF TIMES simplicy is what sells..i.e.JB in the early days…..stop hatin and give da man his props!!

I actually really dig the grassroots one, looks real nice. White with the gum ties it all in nicely.
Really like that brown one at the bottom too.

MAD! Went to NY NIKEid STUDIO and they put these features on members only…wack. BUT THE THUGBOSS JOINTS been done, been fresh…go peep. They on flickr and in our gallery on the site.

Those are okay. I like the simplicity of them but they didnt blow my socks off. I think that my design could have won but I found out about the contest to late so by the time I had my design all worked out it wuz 2 late

Wow I can’t believe I won. These will def come to fruition since I’m getting hooked up by Nicekicks. I wanted to keep them simple, yet kinda complex since a lot of entries were just a bunch of colors jumbled together…
