The cultural adoration for Nike’s React Element 87 continues to mount as the second wave of colorways resurface ahead of a release circuit later this month.
Driven by a running foundation although largely specific to lifestyle wears, React cushioning is the shoe’s greatest technical assist. Even still, it’s the modern-day translucent upper that has been its biggest victory. Shifting the value we place on socks and how they — with the React Element 87 as a vehicle — steer the very aesthetic of the shoe, the Element 87’s deconstructed allure manages to effortlessly open an entirely new market for a secondary component to the shoe itself.
Two new colorways are set to release in Asia on August 14 and subsequently in the European market on August 16. U.S. release details for both the “Desert Sand” and “Dark Grey” colorways have not yet been announced. However, if history is any guide, we can expect them soon thereafter.
