The sneaker world has been playing close attention, too, as Nike announced that they would unveil a brand new pair of Kobe kicks when he hit the mark.
Prior to the Lakers’ game tonight against the Minnesota Timberwolves where Kobe will likely surpass MJ, the NBA Instagram account has posted a photo of a new Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low PE. While it’s yet to be confirmed by Nike if these are in fact the shoes set to be unveiled, they do sport a multicolored Flyknit upper composed of LA hues with gold branding proving very accolade friendly.
