New Balance 574 “Flag Collection”
| To the right are three pairs of upcoming New Balance 574s from the “New Balance AFWC Flag Collection.” AFWC stands for “American Football World Cup” which is an international tournament held every four years where nations square off with eachother playing American Football.
Supposedly, this package was put together by New Balance’s Japanese division of designers. The AFWC takes place this July in Japan. The three shoes to the right represent half of the attending nations (not quite as big as the other World Cup). From top to bottom: USA, Japan, and Sweden. Just like baseball, Japan is dominating the rest of the world at an “American sport” winning the first two American Football World Cup titles. This is the first year that the US has participated, so we’ll have to wait and see if Japan can pull a three peat. Back to the shoes. They are due out in July and will release in the US as well as Japan. Info thanks to vitasoy. |
