Michael Cooper Premium Air Force Ones
| This weekend, Nike will continue with the Original Six Air Force Ones by releasing two player editions - Jamaal Wilkes and Michael Cooper. Michael Cooper led his alma mater New Mexico to a WAC title as a senior. Two years later “Coop” was an NBA Champion as the Lakers won the NBA Championship for the 1979-1980 season. Cooper went on to win four more NBA Championships with the Lakers.
After his 12 years in the NBA, Cooper went on to a career of coaching. In the first season of being the head coach for the WNBA LA Sparks, he led the team to a 28-4 record. Today he coaches in his college town of Albuquerque, New Mexico where he has most recently led the NBA Development Leage team Albuquerque Thunderbirds to a NBA-DL Championship in 2006. The toe-box of the shoe depicts Michael Coopers strength in the Ying and Yang. He was an offensive threat and a defensive promise. His balance of offensive and defensive skills made his an assett to his team for the 12 seasons he was with the Lakers. These will release this Saturday, February 10th for $125.
