  3. Would NOT camp out for the mcflys. There are shoes I would… These are not one of them. Theyre nice and all that but just not worth the campout.

I say that like Id ever have the opportunity for a good release to be near me lol.

  5. Someone help me out. i’m not sure what people are doing with these kicks when they get them. i can’t imagine people wanting to play in the Mcfly’s, whether or not they’re signed by Kobe. so does that mean people are just trying to buy them in order to make a profit on ebay? or do people want them because they’re dedicated to the movie.

I’d say 50% of them are there to resell, the other 50% there to like the shoe. Out of those 50% that like the shoe, I’d say half of them will one day wear them.

  14. 2 1/2 days….that’s how long heads have been waiting @ house of hoops in the big apple.

i was @ the undftd santa monica release and i got totally shafted. i was there for 12 hrs, i think the first cat was there for about 24 hrs. it was mad unorganized, peeps were cutting in line when kobe showed up an hour late in the delorean. twas a mess, no wristbands or anything, ridiculous. then they raffle off the last 10 pair, and of course, some people who show up 15 minutes prior win a pair.

i hear it was also a bad look @ NTLA when they were passing out wristbands. peeps were getting salty, cops were by every hour. heads had to sit on the marble cause i imagine the stuffy city of beverly hills would’nt allow chairs or the appearance of camping.

the hyperdunk mcfly hype has hit a critical mass, it’s hitting every hipster blog, yahoo, wired mag, news outlet, you name it. i haven’t seen this much hype since the titanium or the pigeon. i didn’t see this one coming.

i don’t know how i feel about it…it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. i’m addicted to sneakers but at the same time i feel like i need to grow up and leave this bullsh*t. these kicks have hit $1,900 on ebay. that is effin madness and makes me utterly sick.

people don’t get marketing. nike could have made more of these mcfly’s and they would have easily gotten consumed by all of us and would have made more money than doing a limited release…but by making them limited, it creates a buzz and hype that is utterly priceless. i wouldn’t call it genius but it’s pretty damn clever.

i’m banking that the nike marketing gurus didn’t even see this one coming. i’m will to bet that they are surprised at the level of success and buzz of this one.

  34. thanks. it’s annoying. look, we live in a free capitalistic country/society, i don’t dispute that. but punks like this are screwing up the pursuit of sneaker collecting or what peeps call the “game”. you just don’t have to be a pig about. sure these punks have to spend their hard-earned (mommy’s) money and wait in line like everybody else, but these kids scored the first time. do they really need another pair with how limited and in-demand they are. save some for the tourists (that’s a saying, not literally, dipsh*ts). right?

that’s why they need to be put on blast. i really want to take my pimp-hand to the fat one and his mankles. that would be nice. word to all hoarders/resellers/pigs/weasel line-cutters/squatters/punk*ss b*tches, i’m watching you…

you’re an idiot. that’s nuff said.

    Comment by glen mac — July 13, 2008 @ 6:19 pm

  38. damn its like buying kicks to flip on ebay is becoming a career. But in my opinion these are just an average pair of kicks that were WAY overhyped and people ate it up big time. I would be one to cop and take them straight to the hardwood to test them out lol

    Comment by atxboy25 — July 13, 2008 @ 6:22 pm

  39. glen mac it’s funny that you mention the prices of these… I saw on marqueesole, that they were sold for $2015, I mean really, it’s not even that serious!

People are f*cking sharks and I really hate it.

Nike did somewhat screw themselves over though, because like you said, they shouldn’t have released these in limited numbers and at limited locations.

Because even though they took in a profit from them, the REAL people winning are the resellers, with rape prices on the web.

    Comment by Darneezy — July 13, 2008 @ 6:40 pm

  40. re-selling and marking-up shoes is no better or worse than scalping tickets. do you like the fact that you have to pay 10 times face value, for example, that laker game, that kanye concert, or that red sox game you wanted to go to?

yeah sure, shoes and event tickets are luxury items, but doesn’t this fact annoy the hell out of you? things won’t change but you can try your damn best to not to subscribe to it. i have bid on kicks on ebay in the past with the at least a 20% markup and bought lakers v blazers tickets on stubhub.

    but…NO MORE.

    CHURCH.

    Comment by glen mac — July 13, 2008 @ 7:16 pm

  41. I guess it’s easy to criticize resellers for what they do, but let’s face it; without them, a whole lot of true “sneakerheads” would not be able to get their feet into a pair of exclusive kicks. For me, the Ebay phenomenon is a two-sided coin that simultaneously helps and hurts the “game”. On one hand, I applaud them for giving that kid in Cornfield, Iowa a chance to be as fresh as someone from NYC, but on the other, I hate the fact that every new hyped sneaker with a “limited edition” tag attached to it has a 20%-50% markup. On a side note, this release would have been noteworthy if Nike had released the original McFLys from the movie. If you think Nike has mastered the creation of hype now, wait until the abomination known as the Air Yeezys are released.

    Comment by madvillain — July 13, 2008 @ 10:10 pm

    as for Klean kixs 24:

hahahaha, busted, kid. first of all, i have no respect for your greedy *ss, punk…so what you have to say to me has no weight, bearing or makes a damn difference. you are a pig. second of all you should have spent that time in school learning grammar rather than camping out and spending your mother’s hard-earned money on kicks. you have issues with plural vs. possessive and “you’re” and “your”, learn english, child.

btw, which one are you? the little poser (left), the one that looks like pervis ellison (mid), or the pleasantly plump cat (right)?

i’ll be sure to say ‘whatup’ next time i seen you in line.

You have stumbled upon the wrong hobby. Please get a new one. Sneaker heads should wear shoes, that’s where the saying came from. I think we would all just appreciate it if you could please stop embarrassing the rest of us. Oh, and by the way; if I see any of those Guido’s, the next thing they know they’ll wake up face down in a gutter somewhere.

Last time I check nice kicks was a place of sneaker info not an English lesson. Now I know you really have no life, correcting other english. Next time you want some exclusive kicks be a real head and start the line like me. Yah that’s right I started the line at Santa Monica. Don’t trip who I am, who are you. At least I maned up told who I was. You will know who I am next time you see me. The first Motherfkr in line.

i am a 31 year old professional (architect/designer) working in los angeles. my moms has been working with nike since 1982, almost a decade before the NIKE World Campus was even built, more than a decade before you were even an embryo. i’ve been rocking the swoosh since i was 6 years old through thick and thin. i hungout at the campus throughout my high school years and was around every big nike athlete in the ’90’s. how old were you when MJ won his last ring in ‘98? five, six?

  67. I don’t get it how people get bashed on, when they’re the ones who waited in line, and put in the work. you people who are crying aboutnot having a pair, should have came earlier, and been there since mid day. you guys all want to bash on these kids for doing what they’re doing, but then again they sacrificed time and money, to buy shoes they wanted. you mad because they have something you want? sure they might OD on the 2 pairs, but if he went and put in the work, waited in line, made sure he got his pair, maybe you should take a note from these kids and do the same to make sure YOU get the shoes YOU want so bad. if they’re so ugly to you kids saying that, then why the f*ck are you posting in here. leave the shoes alone if they’re that ugly. you don’t think they’re all that, you don’t think they’re worth it, we’ll ok then stfu and live with the fact that WE have a pair and you don’t. I learned my lesson. I was late in line and had t settle for a size 14. next time I’m making sure I’m in the front of the line, and get my size to rock.
