Kevin Durant was picked second by the former Seattle Supersonics after a very successful freshman season playing at the University of Texas. During his first season in the NBA he won the Rookie of the Year Award. As the Seattle Supersonics moved to Oklahoma City in 2008 and turned into the Oklahoma City Thunder Kevin Durant went with as the new organizations cornerstone player.

When Kevin Durant came out of Texas and entered the draft many shoe companies were fighting to sign him. Adidas tried exhausting all their resources, offering Durant a $70 million contract. He decided to turn them down for a 6 year $60 million deal with the boys over at Nike. Durant wore an assortment of Nike Basketball shoes until his second season when he introduced his first signature shoe the Nike KD1. Since, Nike has followed with the KD II and is sure to follow with a litany of Durant signature shoes to come as the young talent continues to burgeon.
