Police brutality within the Black community is a sad reality that is rooted in America’s history for far too long. The recent deaths of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd are a few of the latest instances in which police violence has taken away a Black life.

For the last couple of weeks, the world has stood in solidarity with Black lives with protests, donations, and overall advocacy. Sneaker brands are also lending a hand to give back to the Black community as a result. Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand announced a $100M, 10-year commitment to organizations that are rooted in making a difference within the Black community. The first organizations have been announced as donations have officially been made.

Formerly Incarcerated and Convicted Peoples and their Families Movement (FICFPFM)Black Voters Matter, and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (LDF) are the initial organizations that have received donations as FICFPFM and LDF received $1M as Black Voters Matter received $500,000.

Salute to Jordan Brand and Michael Jordan for doing the right thing. Keep it locked at Nice Kicks for more information.
