Even Kawhi Leonard Was Once Impressed by P.J. Tucker’s Kicks

Hooping in literally any shoe he owns, like the Off-White x Air Jordan 1, Houston Rockets forward P.J. Tucker is the viewed by many as the Sneaker King of the NBA. In fact, Tucker’s sneaker collection is so unique and amazing that the normally quiet Kawhi Leonard once couldn’t stop talking to him about his kicks during a game.

That’s right, Leonard was once talking Tucker’s ear off about his Nike Air Foampsite One “Phoenix Suns” in the middle of a game.

From Bleacher Report’s Alex Wong:

One of Tucker’s favorite memories came during the 2012-13 season, when as a member of the Phoenix Suns, he played against Kawhi Leonard and the San Antonio Spurs. Tucker doesn’t remember exactly what he wore that game—although research suggests it was the Air Foamposite One “Phoenix Suns,” even though Tucker thinks it was the Air Foamposite One “Galaxy,”—but he remembers Leonard’s reaction clearly.

“Kawhi was like, ‘Dawg, where’d you even get those?'” Tucker said. “He kept asking me, ‘Like seriously, where’d you get those?’ Kawhi doesn’t ever talk, so it was funny to hear him say something.”

If Tucker can’t get the usually silent Leonard to pester him about his shoes, there shouldn’t be any arguments about his claim to the NBA’s sneaker king throne.
