A few days ago Jermaine Dupri posted a video on You Tube with a behind the scenes look for his latest video with Nelly for the song “Stepped on my J’s”. While this may be the first song dedicated to Air Jordans to eventually be aired on BET and MTV, it is definitely not the first to be written and recorded. More than a year ago I came across a group from Memphis, ASET, with a track by the name of “Don’t Step on my J’s” on Myspace and thought I would let you, the readers decide which track you like more.
well, this probably would’ve been a god idea 5 years ago. not now. its not bad but i dont see the reason for it. while i dont want anyone stepping on my jordans, i also dont want to go to jail for beating someone up. at that point i’ll be wearing prison issued slippers.
The hook on ASET’s “Don’t Step On My J’s” is pretty damn tight. I like how they actually talk about different Jordans and know what they are talking about i.e. wings on the 4’s and MJ’s stats on the 10s.
Nelly’s rhymes showed he had as much knowledge as a gas station selling Jordans…

I like both songs (why is Ciara on there lol) but I think ASET just does a better job. If the music was tightened up a bit and some of the lyrics too, then it would be no contest that ASET would be the winner.

Nelly sound so fake to the lyrics. it seem like he readin from a magazine versus actually feeling the song, which is why ASET song is way better. U can tell ASET know what they talkin bout. ASET’s song wins hands down!! I had to come thru and support ASET and all of their greatness. Does Nelly have anything original to pull out of his hat? It will be interesting to see who he tries to steal from next. Everyone knows ASET’s song was first and is the hardest. Great work ASET, keep it up, and keep reppin the M-town!!
The A.S.E.T. song is the better song. They give details about their favorite Jays. Nelly’s song is trash. He shows zero knowledge about Jays, and he talk about skippin school to get the Jays first when Jays come out on Saturdays. Nelly needs to stick with Air Force Ones.

ASET’s song wins hands down!! I had to come thru and support ASET and all of their greatness. Does Nelly have anything original to pull out of his hat? It will be interesting to see who he tries to steal from next. Everyone knows ASET’s song was first and is the hardest. Great work ASET, keep it up, and keep reppin the M-town!!

The A.S.E.T. song is the better song. They give details about their favorite Jays. Nelly’s song is trash. He shows zero knowledge about Jays, and he talk about skippin school to get the Jays first when Jays come out on Saturdays. Nelly needs to stick with Air Force Ones.

Dabanggaz314 are in STL and they did a song called ” Don’t Step On My J’s” more than a year ago, so it’s really not that big of a deal from the people in Memphis but everybody in the STL already doesn’t like Nelly because they think he hasn’t helped anybody get up which is messed up, he didn’t get any help and then he tried to help Chingy and that blew up in his face..
