Comment #2 is dead right. 11’s are my National Champs. The West Region was garbage just like the real tourney!!!

my 3’s didn’t make it

Maybe I missed this but why is this a basketball shoe only tournament. They could expand the field to 64 if they added running shoe models. The Air Max dated shoes (90’s, 97’s, etc.,), Tailwinds, even NB574’s. They might wanna make this bigger next year. Also, why aren’t Air Force 1’s on here?

i got the 11’s, foams, iversons and the pumps.. 11’s gonna take it

This is a basketball shoe only tourney because of March Madness. Look in the future for us to do a much larger bracket with a ton of different kicks.
AF1s and Dunks we left off of the list because those sneakers are adored more for their casual/off court wear today than as a performance basketball sneaker. Let’s face it, one could put the AF1 next to even a Jordan XI and tons would argue for the AF1.

The # 2 penny’s should of made it. I.N.C For life

Man! there is no way a pippen shoe(any of um) a dee brown shoe, a foamposite? or a chuck taylor should be in this conversation. there would have to be a few more pairs of Jordans in this. Didn’t look at the whole bracket but i’m just wondering where the first bo jacksons are. I can seriously name 10 pair of shoes that belong in this deal. No offense but seems to me that a lot of white people did this.
Comment by severalthieves — April 3, 2008 @ 3:21 pm
^ ha! Well Matt is white (check his pic on About Us), but I don’t think the color of his skin has anything to do with what shoes were picked. He worked with Complex Magazine on the project too, so i guess pass your haterade to them too. I think that the field of 32 was pretty well represented with classic new and old from all different brands and eras.
For the record though, Bo Jackson’s kicks were cross trainers - not basketball kicks.

I would like to think that color of skin, nationality, race, gender, or even sexual orientation would have nothing to do with basketball shoes, but apparently it does.
Bo Jacksons are cross trainers bro, not basketball shoes.
Rather than hating on us for not putting in the 10 on your list, post them up and possibly they will be in the next bracket that we do that doesn’t have the basketball only theme.

Alright u say Af1s and dunks were left off for being worn for casual wear. what about Chuck taylors? I know they were worn in their time for basketball but so were dunks and forces

My III’s are out but i think it gonna be either the Jordan XI the Foampods with the Jordan XI bringing it home.
Comment by SoleSaved — April 3, 2008 @ 7:00 pm
The AJ 3’s should’ve made it. I personally think they are the greatest J’s ever made. The idea of the elephant print, combined with its simple but elegant look tops it off. I give them the nod over the AJ XI.
Comment by Harry — April 3, 2008 @ 7:07 pm
King Mike,
I hear what you are saying, but do consider this - how do you pick just one Dunk or just one AF1 to represent the several thousand that have released?
I’m not wanting to drop too many bits of info, but there was a good reason for all of us that the Dunks and the Air Force 1s were not in THIS bracket
Comment by Nice Kicks — April 3, 2008 @ 10:27 pm
yo mike how are we supposed to check what our picks were for the ncaa winner and the championship game score???

That is exactly how I see it, too. Jordan XIs all the wayyyyyy!
Comment by TechNutt — April 4, 2008 @ 5:38 am
Even though I’m a centimental bastar* and would like to see the 1’s pull it off…my money is on the 11’s. Reminds me, I really need a pair of fricking wearable Concords, just cant bring myself to mess up the deadstocks.
Comment by Biggins — April 4, 2008 @ 8:13 am
I don’t know how you all can pick just one shoe.
To me every shoe looks great.
But if i had to pick, I think I’ll pick the Air Jordan XI,and the
Nike Air Foamposite One to be in the Finals.
Comment by Tim — April 4, 2008 @ 5:09 pm

LOL @ you idiots talking about “RUNNING” shoes, “CASUAL/SKATING” shoes and “CROSS TRAINERS” being added to a BASKETBALL SHOE themed bracket, due to March Madness which is of course, BASKETBALL THEMED!
Wow, comprehension is so hard to come by these days, isn’t it?
Final Four: AJ XI, Foamposite, Penny 1 and Reebok Pump.
Championship: AJ XI vs. Penny 1
Champion: Air Jordan XI
*don’t be surprised to see the Foamposite give the XI a run though*
Comment by Darneezy — April 5, 2008 @ 3:16 pm
bo jackson’s are not basketball sneaks lol………

i’m mad that the air jordan VI’s didn’t get that many votes…they are the hottest looking ones in there besides the 4’s and 11’s
Comment by JerseyCityStandUp — April 6, 2008 @ 2:19 pm
They should of put the foamposites on the right side of the bracket. That bracket is the weak bracket. The Penny foamposites and the jordan xi should have been the finals. But since they will clash in the final four. My championship prediction is the jordan xi vs the dee brown reebok pumps. I always loved pennys shoes but even his best pair can’t go up against the jordan xi. The other pennys going against the dee browns are cool too i actually have that pair but those retro dee brown reebok black pumps are ageless classics!
Comment by JOJO DIN3RO — April 8, 2008 @ 8:13 am
whoever decided that the jordan 11s beat the 3s, get your eyes checked now.
and i’m going with my boys the jordan 1s to take it all the way.
Comment by Dave — April 9, 2008 @ 9:37 pm
das wak dey put all the jordans against each other.

1.Jordan 11
2.Jordan 1
3.Foams
