Chi McBride Nike Dunk/Air Force 1 Hybrid

Chi McBride Nike Dunk/Air Force 1Kenneth ‘Chi’ Mcbride, an American actor who has starred in movies such as IRobot, First Sunday, and Paid In Full, is supposedly a sneaker feign to the core. With access to the Nike Innovation Kitchen, he more than likely has sneakers and hybrids we will never see.

Recently, he was spotted wearing a Nike Dunk SB/Air Force1 hybrid. This UFO combines the Nike Dunk SB Dunkle’s upper with an Air Force 1 midsole. If you recall, the Nike Dunk SB Dunkle was the product of a collaboration between music/toy group U.n.k.l.e. and Artist Futura. The upper features Futura’s famous artwork.

Maybe Nike will start mixing Dunk SB uppers with Air Force 1 midsoles more often. Would you approve of this trend? More pics after the jump provided by Vulkan.

  1. I saw these on sneakerplay.com a few weeks back. They’re nice and all but i think they would have been better with all black midsole & bottom,I would rock them though.

  6. The dunk and air force one have too similar of a silhouette to combine. They just look the same.

    Comment by Swood — October 22, 2008 @ 1:55 pm

  7. Not to overwhelming! Nice

    Comment by Peetah_Parkah — October 22, 2008 @ 2:16 pm

  8. Dunk-AF1 hybrids would be cool, just because a Dunk gets Air. But, like Swood said, they look really similar, so not too ground-breaking.

    Comment by poscogrubb — October 22, 2008 @ 2:30 pm

  9. its a very good combination IMO. more versatility in style and function(if you consider that) hahaha. dunk’s upper silhouette with AF1’s midsole is certainly acceptable.

  10. I stopped dating a girl when I was in grad school because she said that where she was from (Goldsboro NC) people called Air Force 1’s Dunks! WTF?!? It was over before it started.

    Comment by J.King — October 22, 2008 @ 2:32 pm

  11. i would lie to see more pics… they arent bad, they are soo much alike but that sole kinda looks funny with a dunk!

    Comment by zane — October 22, 2008 @ 2:37 pm

  12. these are fresh.

they look more like high top AF1’s than dunks tho

    Comment by Nick Cavs — October 22, 2008 @ 2:55 pm

  13. I actually like these personally because dunk sole’s are kinda thin but a force sole is thick and very supportive so i’d buy these

Anybody else think dunks will be the equivalent to Air Forces in popularity on a larger scale in 2 years?

I would guess that you meant sneaker fiend and not sneaker feign. Just joking we all make mistakes. These are sick though, wouldn’t mind seeing these produced for the masses to overhype as usual.

  17. no….please no. two great shoes should never be combined to make one hideous shoe. iv had enough fusions for well, at least a lifetime now.

    Comment by ogdunkscc510 — October 22, 2008 @ 3:34 pm

  18. same as dunks but, pretty much a air bubble insole istead of a zoom air insole. i like em

    Comment by anthony — October 22, 2008 @ 3:40 pm

  19. Oh Adrian B if you havent noticed SB has been Hurtin for a minute now.
these are Cool. but its true Dunks are Built Like AF1s just they have thinner Soles. these are cool though the Dunkles were classic SBs.

    Comment by Mrbellwether — October 22, 2008 @ 3:51 pm

  20. dunks should stay as dunks and af1’s should stay as af1’s

    Comment by danny — October 22, 2008 @ 4:17 pm

  21. Man the one question I have is, how in the world do we know that this is actually Chi and not some dude wearing fakes?

    Comment by D — October 22, 2008 @ 4:27 pm

  22. i cant believe the majority of the people on this site actually like these. like really? leave the two shoes be! AF1’s are NOT great its a WACK shoe. im sorry it always has and always will be. SB”s whether theyre dunks, blazers, or whatever have you, are GREAT. Mrbellwether, the reason why SB’s are hurtin is cuz nike decided to be retarded and release all their great stuff at once. if they had been patiet, we couldve just been STARTING to see the Heineken dunk, the D.U.N.K.L.E.S., AND THE dE lA SOULS’.

I hate this whole fusion thing. I mean Jordan Brand was wack anyway imo (except 3 thru 7, 11, and 13) so when fusions started pulling them down, i didnt care. but cmon Nike dont do this!

MAtt what do YOU think of these shoes??

    Comment by swaggs — October 22, 2008 @ 4:36 pm

  23. this just blew my mind..like I’m speechless.. well my first thought was .. this is awful.. but .. why wouldn’t i expect this.. just hope they don’t continue.. which they will

    Comment by musick_jr — October 22, 2008 @ 4:53 pm

  25. WOW, there really is alot of hat going on in this room. I mean I figured people would hate the fact that these are a “fusion” for lack of a better word. But, when folks like swaggs start talking crazy about classic kicks that just takes the cake. I mean AF1 wack???!! Dude, are you serious? Now, I am not a skateboarderand nor do I profess to be but, there are way more classic AF1 colorways than SB colorways. Now before anyone gets there panties in a bunch, I’m not putting down Nike SB. I am simple stating the obvious.

In my opinion I think the JB fusion line is not as bad as you guys are making it out to be. The Jordan brand has always been know for taking risks do these should not suprise you. Now, I agree, that some Jays just should not be fused with the AF1 for example the Jordan XX. But,if nike and JB didn’t take risks like these then we would have no JB and nike would be reduced to the level of saucony and reebok. Just keep an open mind and if you don’t like them, just don’t buy them.

  39. These are OK but I hope they end it with these exclusives and don’t try forcing this crap down everyone’s throats.

And just for the record, AF1’s suck monkey nuts….

    Comment by TokyoMike — October 22, 2008 @ 10:05 pm

  40. i think the design is dope. fusing the AF1 and dunks seem kina useless to me but i guess we shoulda saw it coming.

    Comment by YouKnow — October 22, 2008 @ 10:30 pm

  41. LOL @ J.King… those Goldsboro people are straight up retards!

As for the shoe, I don’t like the splicing. They’re better off as just the Dunk, alone. No need to do a Hybrid, and then to Hybrid the Dunk Unkle?

    Blasphemy.

    Comment by Darneezy — October 22, 2008 @ 11:17 pm

  42. Agree with #6 my brother would buy dunks and forces and my mom would think they were the same shoe til he showed her the difference.

  48. so funny people btch about fakes yet praise this bootleg. This atrocity is about 4yrs late. Recycling old hype is pretty pathetic when sb’s are dead.

    Comment by rod — October 24, 2008 @ 2:45 am

  49. It was just a matter of time until Nike started retro’ing SBs. Of course they have to make it different so collectors don’t go bananas. The only fusions that work are the Nike running shoes. Seeing 360 soles on a pair of Infrared Air Maxes was nuts.
